Q. What should I look for when choosing a home health care provider?
You need to feel confident with the credentials and skills of the provider and their caregivers, fully informed about their ability to meet your needs and expectations, and comfortable with your final choice. At Just Like Family, we “give you all the facts”
you need to make an educated decision to give your family peace of mind.
Q. Is Just Like Family Licensed?
Just Like Family is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to provide home care. This license is required by the state since 2010 and is renewable each year. Part of our renewal process involves an on-site inspection by a state surveyor.
Q. Will someone from Just Like Family visit my home prior to the start of service?
We will be happy to provide an in-home assessment by and assessment nurse (RN or LPN) at no cost. A care plan can be set up at this time, or a care plan can be set up over he phone.
Q. How is my caregiver selected?
It’s important to match the skills and personalities of our caregivers with our clients specific needs and requirements to guarantee complete satisfaction for all.
Q. How soon can I start service?
We will make every effort to begin services as soon as possible or on the start date you request. Already tight scheduling, holiday or weekends can sometimes delay the start of service. We will keep you informed so that you and your family are aware of exactly when services will start.
Q. Are caregivers bonded/insured?
Yes all of our employees are covered by our liability insurance.
Q. What can I expect from my caregiver?
To execute the customized care program determined by our supervisory staff, your family and the loved one receiving in-home care.
Q. How do I pay for the services of a caregiver?
You receive one convenient bill from Just Like Family. We pay our caregivers according to all state and federal employment regulations. Our employees are bonded and insured for workman’s compensation and professional liability.
Q. Are Just Like Family services covered by insurance?
Just Like Family does not bill insurance companies. Our services are not covered by traditional health insurance plans; however, Long Term Care Insurance will often cover some or all of the services. Our clients pay Just Like Family and long term care insurance reimburses them according to the provisions of their policy. We will provide the insurance company with documentation required to prove the services have been provided.
Q. What if I’m not satisfied with my caregiver?
Your family’s level of comfort and satisfaction is paramount to us, so don’t ever hesitate to let us know how you feel so we can make any necessary adjustments.
Q. What if I have concerns or questions outside of business hours?
A staff member is on call 24 hours a day for all emergency situations; however, if your concern or question is not an emergency, we kindly request you call our office during regular business hours.
